Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests show the fluid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.
City officials said they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important official said the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
