Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
