Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the team reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can anticipate learning which characters will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
